Three new things we have learnt on a Youth Exchange
Let's start with what we all learned for sure, CONSIDERATION IN OTHERS CAN MAKE A GREAT ENVIRONMENT. Sounds uthopical, but it's absolutely true. You cannot imagine how peaceful we feel with the others, indeed we could say we are a small community.
We are around 30 people from 4 different countries with such different backgrounds. Each of us has an own history that makes the experience unique. From a guitar master to teachers, sport trainer or law students, we are so different, what we found that its possible to have a beautiful time together leaning from each other behaviour, past, culture and jokes.
Do you know what a couple of lovers is? Do you remember the first month? We all have that feeling. Those ten days have been nearly perfect. From these days we are now able to recognise some Hungarian words, different types of wine or how to dribble the prize with local market sellers, indeed it was funny. We made drawings, we watched movies, we filmed videos and we were our own main character on this project. Actually, we could go out of our comfort zone and get truly accepted by others. And it's not difficult, it's just like going without a harness for crossing a bridge, it will always depend on many factors, but where we are it's quite easy to do it.
Taking care of others is also a great thing we all have learnt cause for being well we respect everybody's ideas and thoughts and take consideration of them. That's a huge point that avoid us from egos and creates that community we told about before. In the Maslow pyramid our base is respect. And that's the reason why we are feeling that well, we all feel accepted and involved in the group, something that unfortunately we all are not used to.
It looks deep, but is something a person without a soul? without feelings? We just want to feel great and enjoy every moment, as carpe diem, and we learnt, for sure, that if a group aims that, it's more than possible.
